Finding the right space |

Building up to the “right” spaceI have painted in various environments since becoming a professional abstract artist in 2015. From a corner in an unfinished basement with no window space, an outside studio space in an old factory to my current studio space. I found that the paintings I created changed based on the environment (and light) I painted in. I think where the journey has lead me is to just the right space for me. In late 2020, we finished my ideal space. Installing storage, a cleaning station and counterspace into the work area and a 8 foot x 4 foot finishing area with storage in another room. The space, with the exception of the floor is almost entirely white, allowing it to be free from distractions and truly a space to create in. You can see the effects of painting in this space in my most recent series “Stories of my Youth “. |
